Our legacy of giving
Aflac was founded in 1955 with a first of its kind cancer care policy. Forty years later, CEO Dan Amos pledged $3 million to support what became the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
This gift laid the foundation for Aflac’s corporate giving focus and kicked off a nearly 30 year (and counting) legacy of supporting pediatric cancer and blood disorders research and treatment.
Supporting our heroes
In addition to Aflac’s philanthropic giving, My Special Aflac Duck® is the tangible program reinforcing Aflac’s promise that you are not alone. It helps children with cancer and blood disorders ages 3 and up prepare for medical procedures, communicate their feelings, practice distraction techniques and so much more.
My Special Aflac Duck is available at no cost to organization partners, medical professionals and families.

32,000 and counting at more than 500 hospitals and partner organizations
